Both Incheon United and Jeju United will be looking to bounce back this weekend following defeats in the FA Cup during the week. Both sides have only two victories from their opening nine games, however Daegu kings Jeju have only tasted defeat once in the league so far this season.
Recent Form
Starting with the hosts Incheon United who have had a depressing week as they lost five-nil to league leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai and then fell to a three goal rout to second tier Anyang in the cup. This season Incheon have only found success twice and both were at home.
Moving over to the visitors Jeju United who have been tough to beat so far this season but have found winning difficult at the same time. They lost in the cup during the week to Gimcheon Sangmu, however they did win last weekend beating Suwon Bluewings two-one. So far this season just like Incheon they've struggled to score, but have at least been solid at the back.
What to Watch
Incheon United have struggled scoring goals this season. They've netted nine times, however four were against Suwon FC. Currently Elias Aguilar is the Incheon top scorer but he hasn't scored in the last last four games and therefore Incheon need someone else to step up. That someone maybe Stefan Mugosa who finally returned during the week for the first time in 2021.
Taking a quick look at the Incheon defensive line which shipped five at the weekend and looking overpowered against Jeonbuk. They switched things up in the cup and that made no difference conceding three against Anyang. It maybe a new look defensive system this coming weekend for Incheon.
Now looking at the visitors midtable Jeju United. Up front like Incheon they struggled early this season, however in recent weeks former Seoul E-Land and Ulsan Hyundai forward Joo Min-kyu has found his scoring boots netting three in three.
Defensively Jeju United have been impressive. Experience keeper Oh Seung-hoon has been the difference a number of times and they have a nice mix of experience and youth generally in their defence.
Who to Watch
Montenegrin International and star striker for Incheon Stefan Mugosa made a comeback cameo appearance during the week in the cup defeat to FC Anyang. Incheon are in dire need of goals at the moment to offset their defensive issues and Mugosa is their best hope in the final third. The only question is how much of the game can he play after five months without competitive action?
