Breaking: Brazilian Manager Andre Resigns from Daegu FC Post

Daegu FC's Brazilian manager Andre Gaspar announced that he will resign from his post with just 32 days to go until the start of the 2020 season.

Speaking on his departure via his personal social Instagram account, Andre as announced his departure from DGB Daegu Bank Park, saying: "I am afraid that I have to announce my resignation, but it has been such a beautiful journey for me with Daegu FC and such an honour to be able to make history with the club, such as promotion, winning the Korea FA Cup, and playing in AFC Champions League".

He also adds "My goal was to be with Daegu FC for the 2020 K League season and I did my best to do so", perhaps implying that he hadn't been seeing eye to eye with the club on a contract renewal.

The Brazilian sends the best wishes and gratitude to all of players, fans, and the club officials.

It is a shocking news to all of Daegu fans as the Brazilian was seen in Daegu's training camp with his players and with only 32 days to go till K League, the club have not made any official statement yet.

Currently, the Daegu FC squad are stationed in Kunming, China for preseason camp, but they will come back to Korea as soon as possible following the recent outbreak of the 'coronavirus' which is being spread  rapidly in China.

The Brazilian joined the Sky Blues ahead of the 2015 season as one of coaching staff and helped the team with promotion to K League 1 in 2016 season.

In 2017 May, he became caretaker manager after Son Hyunjoon's resignation before he signed as full time manager at the end of the year.

Under his supervision, Daegu FC have claimed 48 wins, 35 draws, and 36 losses in all competitions including his caretaker stint, with unprecedented successes such as winning 2018 FA Cup and playing AFC Champions League.
