News: Dejan Damjanović and Yeom Ki-hun Re-Sign with Suwon Bluewings
Suwon Bluewings have announced that they have secured the signings of K League legends, Yeom Ki-hun and Dejan Damjanović, on extended deals, lengthening their stay at the club.
Yeom Ki-hun, meanwhile, has been handed a two-year contract. The 35-year-old legend has 345 games under his belt in the K League and will be aiming to become just one of a handful of players to break the 400 mark by the end of his contract. Scoring 67 goals and assisting 103 times throughout his K League career, the veteran had a more difficult season in 2018 and is rumoured to have taken a significant pay cut. Yeom will be given more responsibility and will assist with coaching, as Suwon look to groom him to become a future manager of the club.
Both players will join up with the rest of the squad at the end of January when the team is scheduled to begin their winter training, in preparation for the 2019 K League season. They will be joined by the new manager, Lee Lim-saeng, who also joins the club on a two year deal.
Dejan, who scored 27 goals last season, has been given a one year extension and he will remain with the club until the end of 2019. The former Montenegrin international's goal scoring efforts in the ACL in particular, a competition in which he is now the record goal scorer, secured him Suwon's player of the year trophy.
