Preview: Daejeon Citizen Vs FC Anyang

Daejeon welcome the visit of struggling Anyang at Purple Arena this Saturday that sees a meeting of two sides who were rather unconvincing in their respective FA Cup ties in midweek. Whilst Daejeon were easing their way past National League outfit Cheonan City in a narrow win, Anyang were struggling to to overcome Honam University at home.

The Purples have endured a mixed start to the campaign, having picked up just one league win thus far, and so will perhaps see the Anyang fixture as an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways.

Anyang, on the other hand, because of what was somewhat of an upset in their last league outing by seeing off the challenge of Seongnam FC in a 2-0 home win, Saturday's fixture certainly could be seen as an intriguing one.

Previous Meetings

The most recent encounter was in September last year during which Daejeon picked up all three points in a 3-2 win at Daejeon World Cup Stadium.

The Purples found themselves 2-0 up after just eight minutes thanks to goals from Kim Dongchan and a Kim Byungsuk collectors item.

Park Daehoon made it three 10 minutes before half time to ensure that Daejeon were in total control heading into the break.

However, 10 minutes after said break, Park Seungil pulled done back for Anyang before an 88th minute Seo Yongdeok penalty ensured of a nervy ending to proceedings.

Last season, from the four meetings, Daejeon recorded one win over Anyang, lost once and drew twice.

In total there have been eight meetings between these sides, Daejeon have three wins to the name, Anyang two, and three draws.

Team News

Georgian winger Levan is expected to face a late fitness test after missing out the last two games with an ankle injury.

The on loan AFC Tubize man revealed that he was expected to be out of for just a week meaning that he could return to the fold for the visit of Anyang.

Neither Daejeon nor Anyang have any suspensions to speak of but Bang Daejong and Aubin Kouakao are both just one booking away from suspension for Saturday's visitors.

Daejeon's Kim Daeyeol, Kim Jinkyu, and Kim Taeeun are all in a similar situation where another yellow card would result in a one-match suspension.
