News: 2026 K League 2 fixtures released

The K League has announced the schedule for Rounds 1 through 34 of the 2026 K League 2 regular season. A total of 17 teams will participate in K League 2 this season, including newcomers Gimhae FC 2008, Yongin FC, and Paju Frontier. Each team will play 32 matches, for a total of 272 matches in the regular season.

The opening match of the 2026 K League 2 season will take place on Saturday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Gimhae Sports Complex, where Gimhae FC 2008 will face Ansan Greeners. Gimhae, the reigning K3 League champions, are stepping onto the professional stage this season, while Ansan aim to bounce back from a disappointing campaign last year and push toward mid-table.

Later that day at 4:30 p.m., Suwon Bluewings will take on Seoul E-Land at Suwon World Cup Stadium. The Bluewings, who narrowly missed out on promotion last season, have appointed head coach Lee Jung-hyo in an effort to spark change and raise expectations for the new season. Seoul E-Land, now in their third year under head coach Kim Do-kyun, are determined to finally secure promotion this season on the back of growing stability.

On Sunday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m., Yongin FC and Cheonan City will clash at Yongin Mireu Stadium. Led by inaugural head coach Choi Yunn-kyum, Yongin have assembled a competitive squad with high-profile signings such as Shin Jin-ho, Lim Chae-min, and Suk Hyun-jun. Cheonan, under new head coach Park Jin-sub, begin the season with the goal of reaching the playoffs.

At the same time, relegated Daegu FC will host Hwaseong at Daegu iM Bank Park. Although Daegu were relegated to K League 2 last season, the retention of key players Cesinha and Edgar signals their strong determination to earn immediate promotion. Hwaseong, meanwhile, look to build on last season’s surprise performances as an expansion club and target a higher finish this year.

Also kicking off at 2:00 p.m., Chungbuk Cheongju will face Suwon FC at Cheongju Sports Complex. Chungbuk Cheongju’s new head coach, Luis Quinta, the club’s first-ever foreign manager, has promised an efficient, attack-minded style of football. Suwon FC, relegated to K League 2 last season and now led by head coach Park Kun-ha, aim to challenge for promotion with an organized and proactive approach.

At 4:30 p.m. the same day, Gyeongnam and Jeonnam will meet at Changwon Football Center. Both Gyeongnam head coach Bae Sung-jae and Jeonnam head coach Park Dong-hyuk bring prior K League 2 managerial experience to their new teams and are expected to showcase their respective tactical identities from the opening round.

On Monday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m., Chungnam Asan will play Paju at Asan Yi Sun-sin Stadium. Chungnam Asan have appointed Lim Kwan-sik as their new head coach, signaling a focus on strengthening team organization, while Paju begin their first professional season under foreign head coach Gerard Nus.

Later that day at 4:30 p.m., Busan will host Seongnam at Busan Gudeok Stadium. Busan have reinforced their squad with veteran signings such as Kim Jin-hyuk and Kim Min-hyeok, underlining their promotion ambitions. Seongnam, who have steadily improved since the appointment of head coach Jeon Kyung-jun, are aiming for an even higher finish this season.

Much like K League 1, there'll be a break for the World Cup, but lasting four weeks instead of seven.

After the regular season concludes, the teams finishing first and second will earn automatic promotion to K League 1. Teams placed third through sixth will compete in the playoffs, with the final winner securing promotion. The semi-playoffs—featuring third vs. sixth and fourth vs. fifth—will be held on Thursday, December 3, and the playoff final between the two winners will take place on Sunday, December 6.

However, if the team finishing last in K League 1 is not Gimcheon Sangmu, the team that loses the K League 2 playoff final will face the bottom K League 1 team in a Promotion–Relegation Playoff. If Gimcheon Sangmu finish last in K League 1, no Promotion–Relegation playoff will be held. The schedule for the Promotion–Relegation playoff will be determined later, depending on Gimcheon Sangmu’s final league position.

The full fixtures can be found on K League's official homepage and Instagram.
