New Team K League manager appointed for Tottenham Hotspur friendly

Following Hong Myung-bo's departure from Ulsan HD to take over as new Korean national team boss, Team K League has needed a new manager for the upcoming friendly against Tottenham Hotspur as part of the 2024 Coupang Play Series.
Pohang Steelers boss Park Tae-ha has been named as Team K League Head Coach with Suwon FC gaffer Kim Eun-jung as coach.

Team K League will face Tottenham on Wednesday 31st August at 8 PM at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Hong Myung-bo was in the dugout for Team K League last year for the 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid with then Daegu manager Choi Won-kwon as coach, while Kim Sang-sik, the then-Jeonbuk boss, led the team in 2022 against Tottenham with then Suwon FC manager Kim Do-kyun has coach.

Before that, Jose Morais led the 2019 iteration of Team K League for the friendly against Juventus with Kim Do-hoon and Choi Young-soo as coaches.

In terms of playing personnel, the fan-picked eleven was announced by the K League on July 16th after a nine-day vote. Lee Seung-woo led the voting at just under 50,000 to take part in his third Team K League match in as many years, and Jesse Lingard was a close second with over 46,000 votes.

Gangwon FC prodigy Yang Min-hyuk is also in the squad after being voted as the Team K League's young player, but the K League has yet to announce who the remaining 10 players will be.
