This is Just the Beginning: An Interview With Seoul E-Land’s Bruno

Seoul E-Land has seen a number of exciting and talented Brazilian players put on the famous blue, leopard-printed shirt. Some noticeable players come in the form of Wesley Alex, Douglas Coutinho, and current Daejeon Hana Citizen star, Leandro.

In 2023, Seoul welcomed three more Brazilians to the squad. Ronan and Reman join the capital side to boost the firepower up top. However, it is their attacking midfielder Bruno who has been the talk of the town for the side. This week, Michael Redmond had the pleasure to sit down with the aspiring player and talk about his K League career, his current team, and life as a whole in Seoul.

An Interview With Bruno

MichaelHow has your experience been playing for Seoul E-Land so far?

Bruno: I am extremely satisfied and it has been a great experience being able to play for Seoul E-Land. I am always grateful to the team and the fans.

MichaelYou have already scored six goals so far this season, how do you feel about your performances on the field?

Bruno: I have already scored six goals this season, however, I am not satisfied with my performance because I believe I can achieve even better results.

MichaelYou have already scored two free kicks for Seoul E-Land this season. What is your secret to such accurate and powerful free kicks?

Bruno: I am aware of my strong shooting ability, and I have great confidence with my left foot.
I also believe it is due to the fact that I have always enjoyed practising free kicks when training.

Bruno has scored six goals for Seoul E-Land in the 2023 season.

MichaelAs a Brazilian player, how have you adapted to playing in a different country with a different language and culture?

Bruno: I am still adapting, but I believe that I am getting along well with the culture and I am really enjoying life in Korea. Due to this, I believe I will be able to further adapt to life here.
I believe that if I continue to adapt well in Seoul, then I can also achieve good results on the field.

MichaelWhat are your goals for the remainder of the season, individually and for the team?

Bruno: Personally, my goal is to continue contributing with good performances and by scoring goals.
On a team level, my goal is to
help the team in the push to promotion to the K League 1.

MichaelYou seem to have a good understanding with your teammates on the pitch. How do you work to develop that chemistry?

Bruno: It is simply from training together every day. I feel like my teammates have adapted to my playing style and I have also adapted to their styles.
This is how football works. I believe that as time goes by, the cooperation and synergy with my teammates will improve even more.

Bruno has scored two free kicks for Seoul E-Land this season.

MichaelWhat do you do mentally and physically to prepare for a game?

Bruno: I try to maintain a calm state of mind as much as possible and I always try to approach a game with a happy heart, always thinking positively.
In doing so, I can show a good performance on the field.

MichaelThe boss Park Chung-kyun has come in and restored faith in Seoul fans. How is your relationship with the manager and how is he helping you with your game?

Bruno: The coach has always been helpful to me. He always has conversations with me and provides assistance in my adaptation process.
He is very approachable and he makes it easy for me to ask him how can I show a better performance on the pitch.

MichaelWhat has been your favourite goal so far this season?

Bruno: Personally, my favourite goal is the free kick that I scored in the FA Cup against Suwon FC.
The goal won us the game and secured us a place in the round of 16. It was a very important goal for me and a crucial goal for the team.

MichaelYou are a firm fan favourite amongst those in the stands who watch you every well. Do you have any messages for the fans of Seoul E-Land?

Bruno: I would like to express my gratitude to each and every fan who supports me and cheers for me and my game. I appreciate it every time you chant my name. I also want to make this very clear, this is just the beginning.
I will repay the fans' support by showcasing impressive dribbles, by scoring many goals and providing important assists.
I want to bring more joy to fans through my game, however, I will always remember that contributing to the team's performance is the most important thing.
