Daejeon Hana Citizen's Anton Kryvotsyuk on Incheon draw: "It was a good result"

Daejeon Hana Citizen defender Anton Kryvotsyuk describes the 3-3 draw away to Incheon United as a "good result" but also heaps praise on goalkeeper Lee Chang-geun who, despite an error to gift Incheon's lead, made a match-saving stop at the death.

Daejeon on Saturday were on the road in K League 1 for the first time in 2023 and looking for their first away win in the top division since August 2015 - a 2-1 victory against Gwangju FC.

But despite being 2-1 up with little more than 13 minutes left, Daejeon found themselves 3-2 down then, at the death, back level at 3-3.

Anton Kryvotsyuk, who has played every minute of Daejeon's first two matches this term, spoke positively about the result:

"For us, I think, this one point is a positive. It is our first away game in K League 1 so I think everyone is happy because of this result because also we can lose but the score was 3-3 - it was a good, a good result."

After the 2-1 loss to FC Seoul on opening day, Daejeon were expecting a reaction from Incheon United - particularly at home in front of strong support:

"Yes, we knew for sure that they play at home and they have good support from their fans and they will push, we knew this and we were ready for this."

Daejeon's own fans travelled in their numbers, though, and made themselves heard throughout the match. After describing the atmosphere as "amazing" last week, Anton offered his thanks to the fans this week and reiterated how big of a help they have been so far:

"I want to thank every fan because we hear them, they support and every match we are waiting for them because for us it's really important, so thank you so much to every one of our fans."

Incheon took the lead thanks in part to an error from Daejeon goalkeeper Lee Chang-geun as his clearance landed at the feet of Lee Myung-joo who duly sent the ball back goalward with just eight minutes on the clock.

Anton, though, was quick to defend his goalkeeper by saying that it was his save at the end that earned Daejeon the point:

"Even if he makes mistake but as you see in the last second he saved us so he gives us this one point and thank you so much for our goalkeeper."

Up next for Daejeon Hana Citizen is Pohang Steelers at home on Saturday at 14:00, perhaps Daejeon's toughest test yet but Anton says that it doesn't matter who the opposition is, the aim is always the same:

"Yes, for us it doesn't matter who we play against. Every match we play for the win and we play for the three points."
