Post Match: "The whole squad is focused." - Jeonbuk's Modou Barrow

 

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors maintained the chase of K League leaders Ulsan Hyundai with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Seoul. Modou Barrow gave his thoughts on the team's performance and mentality after the match.

Three points this evening! It keeps you in the hunt behind Ulsan by just the five points at the halfway stage. You’ve been involved in a couple of title chases with Jeonbuk now. What is the mentality like in the dressing room and how does the team approach situations like this?

Our mentality is very strong. We always want to win, you know. Our players want to win the trophy so we are training very hard. The whole squad is focused. We are working very hard in the team. We have the concentration because it is a long way to go.

The fixture list is a bit relentless at the moment with games every few days. Is fitness in the team a worry at all or are you pleased with the momentum these close-together games generate?

Yes, of course. When you win games, you have good confidence in the whole squad. Everybody wants to play and you're always looking forward to the next game to come fast because of the form of this team. Now we are taking points and we're always looking forward to playing. Everybody's happy to play.

It was a bit tight this evening. Just the one goal in it and a few close calls there at the end from Seoul, Are you pleased with the performance?

Like I said, we played the FA Cup, we had a lot of games, everybody's tired so we just showed some mental character. Sometimes all games come and go your way like you will dominate the whole game. But sometimes you will have some hard three points that you have to fight for. And today was the kind of mentality.

Finally, on an individual level, three goals in the league this season in addition to three assists. Do you keep track of records like this and what are your personal goals for the season?

Not really. The only thing I care about is I want to win the league. The league is more important and to help the team to give everything in the games. This is more important for me. You know, I don't think about the statistics so much.
