Changes to K League United

Entering our eighth season covering K League and the Korean National Team, it's time for K League United to switch things up, grow, and evolve once again.

Starting in 2022, we have made the decision to move our editorial away from the individual match previews that have dominated this site since its inception in 2015. We are instead shifting to more editorialised content to focus on telling the stories of the teams, players, managers, and backroom staff that make up K League.

More simply, we have made the decision to concentrate on quality instead of quantity.

In the past, we were determined to have a preview for every single match, and are proud to have done so most weeks for many years. However, considering the always hectic schedule of the top two divisions, the deadline demands that places on a volunteer staff, and the extremely short shelf life of these previews, we have decided to move on.

Fret not, match previews are not disappearing entirely. We are delighted to continue our partnership with K League and will still be doing league wide previews as well as Marquee Match previews on KLeague.com

As for KLU, one of our main goals for 2022 is to focus more on the podcast, video, and having the written pieces that feature here inform and become more of an integral part of these outlets. By telling stories that have a shelf life longer than 48 hours, we can give the teams, players, and storylines the attention they deserve by having the written article supplemented by a segment on the podcast, or perhaps even an entire episode dedicated to the topic!

We know this is a big shift for the site, but one we feel necessary to help fans truly engage with these teams we know and love. We want to slow down and take the time to paint fuller pictures of this league and tell the stories that keep our passion for Korean football alive.

Before officially moving in this new direction, we would like to thank each and every writer who has contributed over the years. The faces may have changed many times, but every single individual who contributed helped shine the light brighter on this league for the rest of the world to see. We are extremely grateful to them for their time, passion, and dedication. We're also delighted to have quite a few of them coming back and are very much looking forward to showing off what they have been up to this off season planning for the year ahead!
