K League 2's nearest away matches in 2025

K League 2 has lots of clubs situated close to each other, and others isolated from the main pack. With the 2025 Hana Bank K League 2 campaign just around the corner, what are the closest away fixtures the teams will have this year?

The second tier is made up of 14 teams in total, now that Hwaseong FC have joined, but it's also made up of three clusters of teams along a sort of diagonal line from the southeast to the northwest.

There are now no fewer than eight teams in the 'sudogwon,' or the capital area, three in the Chungcheong region, and three based on the south coast. It means there are a lot of nearby away matches for some and some very long ones for others.

Way down on the south coast, Jeonnam Dragons are the only team from the Honam region in K League 2, while Gyeongnam FC and Busan IPark in the Gyeongsangnam-do region make up the rest of this southern cluster.

The nearest away trip in K League 2 this season is the 10km that Seoul E-Land and Bucheon FC 1995 will make when the two teams face each other on the road. The next closest is the mere 13km distance that Chungnam Asan and Cheonan City will make when these two neighbours lock horns.

As for the furthest 'nearby' away game, that would be Gyeongnan and Jeonnam having to travel 119km when these two regional rivals go toe to toe.

Ansan Greeners

With FC Anyang's promotion to K League 1, K League 2 has lost the Line 4 Derby and Ansan Greeners have lost their nearest away match (24k). However, newcomers Hwaseong FC are just 29km away, followed by Incheon United at 33km and Suwon Bluewings at 34km.

Bucheon FC 1995

Bucheon only have to travel 10km to reach their nearest away match with Mokdong Stadium, the current home of Seoul E-Land, the closest away match of any K League 2 team in 2025. Incheon United are the next closest team at 22km, followed by Gimpo FC at 31km.

Busan IPark

With most of the league at the other end of the country, Busan's nearest away match is of course against their Nakdong River Derby rivals Gyeongnam FC at 38km away, followed by Jeonnam Dragons as the next nearest at 150km.

Cheonan City

Chungnam Asan being only 13km away from Cheonan City's home ground represents the second-nearest away match in K League 2 in 2025. Chungbuk Cheongju, the side that Cheonan joined K League 2 with in 2023, are the next nearest club to Cheonan at 49km.

Chungbuk Cheongju

Chungbuk Cheongju, located very centrally, have two Chungcheong neighbours and the closest is Cheonan City at 47km followed by Chungnam Asan at 56km. Neither are particularly close, despite there being three other clubs in this central region.

Chungnam Asan

For the Owls, Cheonan City are just 13km away in what is as close to a derby in terms of location as you're likely to get in K League 2, then Chungbuk Cheongju are 54km away in what is a North Chungcheong vs. South Cheongheong clash.

Gimpo FC

Incheon United's relegation from K League 1 means that Gimpo have a new nearest away match. Sungui Arena Park is 26km away, slightly closer than both Bucheon FC 1995 and Seoul E-Land at 29km.

Gyeongnam FC

On the other side of the Nakdong River are Gyeongnam's closest rivals and nearest opponents Busan IPark at 43km. Jeonnam Dragons are then 120km away in what is the Roses' nearest away game that actually isn't very near at all.

Hwaseong FC

Newcomers Hwaseong FC, one of eight clubs in the capital region of South Korea, have Suwon Bluewings 27km away and then Ansan Greeners at 32km away for their two nearest away matches for what will be their debut season at this level.

Incheon United

Incheon United fans will at least have plenty of nearby away matches to attend in 2025, something of a consolation for their team's relegation last year. Bucheon are the nearest at 25km, followed by Gimpo at 27km.

Jeonnam Dragons

Jeonnam have no closeby away games at all and have the furthest to travel among all the K League 2 teams. Gyeongnam are the closest team, after crossing the South Jeolla border into South Gyeongsang at 119km, followed by Busan IPark at 152km.

Seongnam FC

The Magpies of Seongnam won't have to travel too far for their nearest away games. The closest away game is against their old foes Suwon Bluewings at 21km followed by Seoul E-Land at 33km. The latter would have been a lot nearer had they still been using Jamsil Olympic Stadium as their home ground; instead, Seongnam will have to drive around the capital to get to Mokdong.

Seoul E-Land

Seoul E-Land fans will already know who their nearest away fixture is, having come up against Bucheon every single season for the last 10 years. At 10km away, Bucheon represent the closest followed by Seongnam at 33km.

Suwon Bluewings

Now back at Suwon World Cup Stadium, Suwon Bluewings have Seongnam as their nearest away fixture followed by newcomers Hwaseong at 26km.
