2023 Korean FA Cup semifinal draw: Incheon to face holders Jeonbuk

Holders Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors will face Incheon United in the semifinals of the 2023 Korean FA Cup. The draw was made on Tuesday, 18th July at the KFA headquarters in central Seoul.

The other semifinal sees Jeju United take on Pohang Steelers.

Both games will take place on Wednesday, 9th August for a place in the two-leg final in early November.

Kick-off times will be announced in due course, according to the KFA.

Jeonbuk won the competition last year under former boss Kim Sang-sik to move level with Suwon Bluewings for the most FA Cup triumphs with five.

The Green Warriors entered the competition in the Round of 16 and beat Paju Citizen of K3 5-2 after extra time and then beat Gwangju 4-0 in the quarters.

Their opponents Incheon United also entered the Round of 16 due to their participation in the AFC Champions League, and beat Gyeongnam FC 2-0 and then Suwon Bluewings 3-2 in the quarterfinals.

On the other side of the draw, Jeju United beat Changwon City, Daejeon Hana Citizen, and Ulsan Hyundai on their way to the last four.

Pohang Steelers, meanwhile, overcame Seongnam FC and Gangwon FC to set up the semifinal clash with Jeju United.

Pohang have won the FA Cup four times, the most recent being in 2013 whereas Jeju United have never won the competition.

Same, too, with Incheon United but the Blue Black reached the final in 2015, losing to FC Seoul.

The first leg of this year's final will take place on November 1st at the home of either Jeju or Pohang Incheon and the second leg on November 4th at the home of Jeonbuk or Incheon.
