2021 K League 2 Round 29 Preview

Over three days of K League 2 football in Round 29, there is a third versus fourth clash with Daejeon Hana Citizen hosting Jeonnam Dragons in a game which looks to be a preview for the playoff semifinal. Automatic promotion-chasing FC Anyang take on Gyeongnam FC while An Byong-jun will be looking to add to his goal tally when Busan IPark head to the Wa~ Stadium to take on Ansan Greeners.

Match of the Round

Daejeon Hana Citizen (3rd) vs Jeonnam Dragons (4th), Mon. 13th August - 19:30 KST

As the table currently stands, this fixture could be a preview of the K League 2 playoff semifinals. Daejeon Hana Citizen sit third but close behind the Purples sit Jeonnam Dragons, with the two set to go toe-to-toe this Monday night.

Team of the Round

FC Anyang (vs. Gyeongnam FC, Sat. 11th Aug. 16:00 KST)

Even with the team's leading goalscorer Jonathan Moya away on international duty, FC Anyang picked up a vital win last time out to keep pace with league leaders Gimcheon Sangmu. This weekend, the Violets host Gyeongnam FC, a side which looks resigned to another season in the second tier.

Player of the Round

An Byong-jun (Busan IPark vs. Ansan Greeners, Sun. 12th Aug. 18:30 KST)

For the second season in a row, An Byong-jun looks set to end the campaign as the top scorer in K League 2. Last year An finished on 21 goals for the year for Suwon FC but with 17 already in the red of Busan IPark and still with eight games to go, the 31-year-old looks set to better his tally from 2020. An scored a hat-trick when the Royals last made the trip to the Wa~ Stadium back in June, including a 90th minute winner following a real ding-dong battle which saw the Green Wolves level not once but twice.
