Staying on Task
Seoul E-Land decided to make some much-needed changes on the weekend, this may be due to the number of games per week starting to increase and the weather also starting to heat up. Seoul pushed hard against Ansan and they kept up their shooting throughout the game. There was some excellent defending from Kim Jin-hwan who came in after calls from fans for his presence. The difference-maker was Han Eui-gwon who managed to head the ball into the back of the net in the 77th minute. It was the striker's first goal for Seoul on the weekend. The Leopard fans will hope he can keep it up when he plays his former club Gyeongnam on Wednesday.

Gyeongnam also had a successful round in the K League 2. They faced off against a Gimcheon Sangmu side who are still not setting the division alight like most would have believed they would have. It was the army however who scored first as Moon Chang-jin scored in the 45th minute.
The Reds came out the second half looking to change their misfortunes. Hernandes equalized in the 75th minute, followed by a Baek Song-dong in the 88th minute. Gyeongnam now makes the journey to Seoul full of confidence after their late win.

Much needed Change
Chung Jung-yong decided to rotate the team around on the weekend. Kim Jin-hwan came in for Kim Hyun-hun in defence. It was a move that proved to be beneficial as Jin-hwan had an excellent game in the backline. Barbio was out on the bench and Kim Min-kyun was back playing in the starting line up.Questions will now be asked it they can keep up with rotation on Wednesday. The Leopards will not have Benegas midweek due to his yellow card suspension. This may lead to Kim Jung-hwan finally getting his first league start for Seoul. Although in saying that, Han Eui-gwon may have deserved a start due to his winner on Sunday.
It's Been a While...
It has been three and a half years since Gyeongnam managed to take three points from Seoul E-Land in the K League. It must be said that Gyeongnam did spend two of those years in the K League 1 before coming back to reality in 2020. However, Seoul managed to stay undefeated against The Reds last year. The record stood at two wins and one draw.Willyan made his welcome return to Gyeongnam after a month off with injury to play against Gimcheon Sangmu. |
As every team have played one another now in the league, this will be the second time this year the two sides meet. The first was a stalemate 0-0 draw in Changwon back in March. That was back when Seoul was going through their incredible start. A lot has changed since then.
Gyeongnam has no injury doubts leading into this one. Willyan made a welcome return to the side on Sunday after a month out. It is the other Brazilian Hernandes who has been scoring the goals for the side with four so far this season.
Children's Day Challenge
This Wednesday welcomes a rare midweek afternoon kick-off in the K League 2. Seoul will hope that they can continue their momentum from Sunday's win and bring it into the game against Gyeongnam. Gyeongnam sits four points off Seoul in 9th. However, the league is still very tight and a win for them on Wednesday will bring them right back into contention for the playoffs.Seoul, on the other hand, sits in 4th and a win will put them level on points with FC Anyang who are on top of the mountain at the moment. We are still very early into the season in the K League 2. However, every game is looking more and more important as the weeks go by. This round is no exception.
