After bagging his 19th and 20th goals of the season in the Horangi's 2-1 away win over Seongnam at the weekend, Junior is now on 73 goals and, with his nine assists, has set a new record that was previously held by fellow countrymen Johnathan (Daegu, Suwon Bluewings) and Adriano (Daejeon, FC Seoul). Suwon FC notch 100th win

By beating Seoul E-Land at the weekend, Suwon FC earned their 100th victory as a professional football club. Suwon were founded in 2003 as Suwon City and even won the National League in 2010. The club became fully professional in 2013 and joined K League the same year for what was the founding year of the K League Challenge (K League 2). Suwon picked up their first K League win in Round 4 of the 2013 season, easing past Gwangju FC by three goals to two. In 2015, Suwon won promotion via the playoffs and, under Kim Do-kyun in 2020, sit top of the K League 2 table and on course for a return to the first tier.

Han Seok-jong signs for Suwon

The transfer window may be closed but Suwon Bluewings swooped for midfielder Han Seok-jong on a free transfer. Han, who has been with Sangju Sangmu as part of his mandatory military service, was due to be a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Incheon United. However, the 28-year-old former Gangwon man has joined the Bluewings on a three and a half year contract and will wear the number six shirt.

Hwang Ui-jo starts for Bordeaux

Korean international forward Hwang Ui-jo was selected to start Girondins de Bordeaux's Ligue 1 match at home to Nantes. Hwang started on the left-hand side of a front three but a red card to Mehdi Zerkane in the 20th minute forced Bordeaux into a 4-4-1 with the former Seongnam forward on the left of the midfield four. Hwang lasted 75 minutes before being replaced by Nigerian striker Samuel Kalu. The match finished 0-0.

Hwang In-beom makes Rubin Kazan debut

Former Daejeon Hana Citizen midfielder Hwang In-beom made his Rubin Kazan debut over the weekend, coming on as as second-half sub in the 2-1 away win over CSKA Moscow. The 'Son of Daejeon' was brought on in the 80th minute, replacing Oleg Shatov.
