KLU Pod | Weekend Recap & Hwang Jun-cheol Interview

The table remains extremely closely contested in both K League 1 and 2 as we pass the half way mark of the season. We take a look back on the weekend that was, pick a few marquee matches this week, and speak with Hwang Jun-cheol about his new book.

Ryan Walters is joined by Matthew Binns in studio to break down K League 1 Round 15 game by game and assess what each result may mean for the clubs moving forward. They discuss the rise of FC Seoul's youth, Jeonbuk hitting their stride, water logged pitches, and Incheon United's hopes at the great escape.

After going over K1, they turn their attention to K2 in the second segment where things remain as insane as ever. Just six points separate first from seventh following Round 14 in the second division, and there were plenty of upsets. Ryan and Matt discuss Suwon and Daejeon's continued slides, Jeju's shot at the top spot, and Seoul E-Land daring to dream of a title.

After choosing a match each in the top two divisions this weekend, Ryan and Matt exit for George Slade's interview with Bucheon 1995's Media Officer, Hwang Jun-cheol. They discuss his new book about his experience in marketing the game across the globe, and the differences and similarities between Europe and Korea. A journey in the sports industry has taken him from Aston Villa to Al Ghazal Golf Club in the UAE, to Bucheon with plenty of ideas on how to improve the game domestically.

All that and more in this edition of the K League United Podcast.
