KLU Pod | Stefan Mugoša & The Great Escape

Like the turning of the seasons, it was inevitable. With back to back wins, Incheon United have officially begun the Great Escape once again. We discuss that and much more in this week's episode.

Ryan Walters is joined by Peter Hampshire and Dan Croydon to giddily discuss Incheon United getting the Great Escape going at long last. In a season it didn't seem it would happen, the Durumi have pulled off back-to-back victories against Daegu and Suwon to climb within three points of 11th place and safety with 10 games remaining. The hosts give their two cents on what's working and what it will take to actually pull it off before turning to an abbreviated version of Paul Neat's interview with Montenegrin international striker Stefan Mugoša.

Júnior Negrão's 20 goals in 17 games is discussed first in the second segment where all three marvel at the accomplishment and debate whether or not he will be able to beat Dejan Damjanović's single season record of 31. They then turn their attention to the rise of Gyeongnam FC in K League 2 and debate whether or not they can stay in the playoff picture. Lastly, the three discuss Gangwon's prolonged misery and whether or not it's time to pull the plug on "Byung-soo Ball."

An over-stuffed Eulji Lewis Mailbag ends the episode with questions about Sangju Sangmu, uncapped Korean international players, COVID-19 potentially shuttering the league again, transfer rumors, and much much more. All that and more in this edition of the K League United Podcast.
