KLU Pod | Júnior Negrão and Brandon O'Neill Interviews

The final East Coast Derby of 2019 decided the K League 1 title when Pohang upset their bitter rivals Ulsan on the final day of the season. The Horangi get their first shot at revenge this weekend when they make the short trek North to the Steelyard.

Mere months after denying their rivals the title on the final day of the season, the Pohang Steelers welcome Ulsan Hyundai to the Steelyard this Saturday night in a massive early season clash. To preview the match itself, get a sense of what it means to each team, and chat a bit about Asian football in general, we interviewed two players set to take center stage.

In the first segment, Ryan Walters speaks with current Golden Boot leader, and perennial MVP candidate, Júnior Negrão. The two discuss the Ulsan striker's time in Thai League, the ever elusive hat-trick, and focusing on the joy of the game even when the pressure is at its highest. They then discuss the match at hand this weekend, how much the title deciding match is still in his mind, and what he and the team are doing to prepare to take the next step this season.

In the second segment, Matthew Binns chats with two time A-League champion, and occasional Socceroo midfielder, Brandon O'Neill. They go over how amazingly timed his move to Pohang was, adapting to K League, and what's working well for the Steelers so far this season. No stranger to big games having played in the Sydney Derby for years, Brandon tells Matthew about his preparation for the match and what he hopes to see Pohang achieve this season.

All that and more in this week's edition of The K League United Podcast.
