February 28th FIFA 19 Tournament at Retro Game Bar

The evening before K League kicks off the 2019 season, we're hosting another Random Teams FIFA 19 Tournament at Retro Game Bar! This time, it's K League only!

You've done it with friends a million times. Now let's see what you've got when there are prizes on the line. It's time for another Random Teams FIFA 19 Tournament!

The rules are simple: you get up to three random selections to make your pick. You must play as that third team.

Passed on 2½ star Chicago Fire and 3 star Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in favor of ½ star Sligo Rovers? Too bad! You're stuck with em.

After some good points made last time, we will have a maximum difference of 3 stars between the clubs just to keep things a bit more fair.

Our usual ₩5,000 cash entry fee due will be due at RGB on the day of the tournament. We also have a one drink minimum to make sure the hardworking bar staff can make it worth their while. The winner gets the entire allotment of entry fees as a bar tab to spend any way they'd like!

Double drinks for single prices will be flowing again as per usual.

Game-play Settings

  • RANDOM TEAMS ONLY
  • 4 minute halves
  • Substitutions: players are only allowed to pause the game if their team has possession.
  • Injuries: On
  • Off Sides: On
  • Camera: Tele Broadcast

Format

Specifics on the tournament layout will be determined on the day based on how many participants we have. Both group play and double elimination are possibilities. If there are enough contestants for full group draws, we will do so beforehand to cut down on organization time at the bar.

Score Recording

Scores will be reported to the score table by both players after the game and put up on a big board to keep track of group points.

General Rules

Though we in no way expect this to happen, K League United reserves the right to disqualify players from the tournament for misconduct or abrasive behavior. Please show respect and friendliness with the other participants and those running the tournament. Disqualified players will no longer be able to participate in the tournament and will automatically lose every match with the maximum score of 3-0.

However, since that's not going to happen, here are the more basic rules:
  • All games will be played on a PlayStation 4.
  • All players must play using the settings laid out here.
  • Frequent and purposeful pausing during game play may be subject to disqualification.
  • Every participant should be available for the duration of the tournament, or until their elimination.
    • If a player does not show for the game, they will lose that match by forfeit 3-0.
  • If any equipment is lost or damaged by a player, said player has to pay for it.
  • By entering this tournament, each participant consents to the posting and use of his or her name and/or photograph on K League United's Facebook, Twitter, and website. (We'll make sure you look nice!)

Choosing Teams

Teams will be chosen at random in each round of the tournament. You may not automatically play as a previously selected random team. Check our Facebook Event for more details.
