The K League United Elimination Game - Round 14

Round Thirteen saw nine become seven as the latest round of the K League United Elimination Game claimed two more victims. As we descend towards the end game, who will manage to hold on as lives continue to fall around them? Here is Round Fourteen.

Round Thirteen Roundup

Had you asked me after round 10 who would win this game, Lex Nande and 이재혁 both would’ve made a great argument.

이재혁 had played a very smart and solid game. He lost one life in round four, but remained perfect until a pair of losses in the 12th and 13th rounds knocked him out for good. He made it to round 13 and still hadn’t chosen the top three K-League 1 teams Jeonbuk, Gyeongnam, Suwon Bluewings, or current K2 leaders Asan. This game is also about luck, and luck wasn’t with Mr. Lee.

Lex went ten rounds without making an error. He then made three incorrect picks in a row. Lex joins a pantheon of greats who went out by choosing 3 wrong teams in a row including Paul Neat… Lex also leaves us having not chosen any of the K-League 1’s top two teams or the current leaders of the K-League 2.

In our head-to-heads for the week, Jeonnam was supported by Mr. Adam Hicks and with two goals crushed Sangju Sangmu supported by Lex.

Ferdinand Scheibe chose Suwon FC and Jon Christian mistakenly, but to harm, chose Gwangju.

Seven players are left. Choose wisely.

I’m taking Anyang.

- Jon Christian

Rules

Pick a team you are yet to choose that you think will go undefeated at the weekend. Please make sure your entries are submitted by 7:00pm on Friday 20th July. If your team loses, or you miss the deadline, you will lose a life. Lose all your remaining lives and it is game over for you.

Unfortunately the deadline for new competitors has passed, but this competition will be running again at the start of next season.

Please enter using the form at bottom of this article. If you wish to change your decision prior to the deadline, please contact either Jon Christian or site editor Matthew Binns. You can also contact them if you cannot remember which teams you selected in previous rounds, though please make sure to check for your name in our previous weekly posts if you can.

Prizes

Besides K League supporters knowing that you are the best at not picking losing sides, we are also giving away a K League United kit (both shirt and shorts), in addition to a standard match ticket (home or away) for any competition featuring a K League side playing in Korea in the current or following season. Tickets will not be offered for matches outside of the country.

For those wishing to partake from outside of the Korea peninsula, the K League United kit will be sent out to you free of charge via a standard international shipping service

As mentioned above, this game only takes place on the weekend when both leagues are playing unless stated otherwise, in which case you will be contacted via email with generous notice.
