Preview: Ansan Greeners vs FC Anyang

The first Line 4 Derby of the season sees Ansan Greeners host an FC Anyang side already showing early season struggles. Can the Greeners get one over their rivals in K League 2 Round 3?

Last Time Out

Ansan came from behind with just nine men to snatch a late win against Daejeon Citizen with Jang Hyukjin grabbing the injury time winner. Meanwhile, Anyang were thumped 3-0 at home by a Bucheon side that looks determined to make a title challenge this season. Ansan sit third in the league on three points while Anyang are in ninth with a single point.

Previous Meetings

This is the 17th Line 4 Derby. Anyang historically have had the upper hand, winning two of the four encounters last season, with a draw and an Ansan win settling the others matches. The two sides have not met since last September when Anyang picked up a comfortable 2-0 win.

Team News

Ansan Greeners will be without the services of both Shin Ilsoo and Park Jinseop following their sendings off during the win over Daejeon Citizen last week. Shin was shown a straight red on the stroke of half time whilst Park was given two yellows in as many minutes.

Prediction

The battling performance and consequent win over Daejeon will give heart to an Ansan side looking to get one over on their Line 4 rivals who have yet to register a goal this season. And with Ansan goalkeeper Lee Heeseong gaining plaudits for a Man of the Match performance last weekend, that looks likely to continue at the Wa. Anyang were well beaten at home to Bucheon last weekend, and managed a 0-0 draw down in Gwangju for the season opener. New manager Ko Jeongwoon will be desperate for a win, but it will be a tall order at the Wa Stadium.

Ansan Greeners 2 - 1 FC Anyang

Trivia: The last time Anyang won a match was way back in September. Their opponent? Ansan!
