FIFA 18 Tournament: K League vs The World

We are pleased to announce our first FIFA 18 Tournament will be held at the Retro Game Bar on Thursday, October 26th. We will have prizes to raffle off as well as some goodies for the winner!

Hot off its recent release, we're inviting you to test your FIFA 18 skills at K League United's first in-person tournament at Retro Game Bar. Unlike our previous K League exclusive tournaments, this time we’re opening up the competition to the world at large! While some will stick with their tried and true K League favorites, others are welcome to play as any 3-3.5 star team on the game. Because... honestly... where's the fun in the old 5 star vs 5 star match ups that have been played 10,000 times over?

There's a small ₩5000 entry fee with a winner-takes-all bar tab waiting for the victor.

Game-play Settings

  • 6 minute halves
  • Substitutions: players are only allowed to pause the game if their team has possession.
  • Injuries: On
  • Off Sides: On
  • Camera: Tele Broadcast

Format

Unlike our previous tournaments, this weeknight showdown will be single elimination. Entrants will be drawn into groups after they arrive at Retro Game Bar and the winner moves on.

Score Recording

Scores will be reported to the score table by both players after the game and put up on a big board to keep track of group points.

General Rules

Though we in no way expect this to happen, K League United reserves the right to disqualify players from the tournament for misconduct or abrasive behavior. Please show respect and friendliness with the other participants and those running the tournament. Disqualified players will no longer be able to participate in the tournament and will automatically lose every match with the maximum score of 3-0.

However, since that's not going to happen, here are the more basic rules:
  • All games will be played on a PlayStation 4.
  • All players must play using the settings laid out here.
  • Frequent and purposeful pausing during game play may be subject to disqualification.
  • Every participant should be available for the duration of the tournament, or until their elimination.
    • If a player does not show for the game, they will lose that match by forfeit 3-0.
  • If any equipment is lost or damaged by a player, said player has to pay for it.
  • By entering this tournament, each participant consents to the posting and use of his or her name and/or photograph on K League United's Facebook, Twitter, and website. (We'll make sure you look nice!)

Choosing Teams

Teams are chosen on a first come, first served basis in Retro Game Bar's Facebook Event. No duplicates allowed, so sign up quick!
