Jeju United defender Baek Dongkyu has been suspended for three months from all competitive action following his on-field attack on Urawa Reds player, and Cho Yonghyung has been given a six month suspension for pushing the referee.
Following a series of altercations before and after the final whistle of Jeju United's 3-0 Asian Champions League loss to Urawa Reds in Saitama, Japan last month Jeju United full back Baek Dongkyu, who was a substitute, ran onto the field and attempted to elbow Urawa Reds forward Zlatan Ljubijankić.
The Serbian forward was one of a handful of Urawa players who were alleged to have taunted the Jeju United players after the Japanese side extended their lead to 3-0 (3-2 on aggregate), successfully overturning Jeju's 2-0 aggregate lead from the first leg.
Cho Yonghyung, who was dismissed in the 81st minute in the second leg, has been suspended for 6 months for shoving the Hong Kong official Kwok Man Liu following his red card.
The disciplinary committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has ruled that Baek is to serve a three month suspension from all competitive action and Cho six months but Jeju United are expected to appeal both decisions.
