Preview: Hana Bank FA Cup 4th Round

Despite the new season only being a couple of months old, on Wednesday the Hana Bank FA Cup resumes in the fourth round and in turn sees the inclusion of the K League Classic teams for the first time this year.

Despite it being a normal week day, matches in the Hana Bank FA Cup fourth round begin from 2pm up until 7:30 when two of the standout ties of the round, FC Seoul Vs Anyang and Incheon United Vs Suwon Bluewings, kick off.

Mokpo City Vs Yangpyeong FC 14:00

In an all non-league clash National League side Mokpo City entertain K3 outfit Yangpyeong FC. Mokpo saw off the challenge of Changwon in round three to set up the meeting with Yangpyeong who comfortably beat fellow K3 side Cheongju on the same night.

Jeonbuk Hyundai Vs Bucheon 15:00

Last season Bucheon made it to the FA Cup semi finals at the expense of Jeonbuk Hyundai, beating the three-times winners in the quarter finals. On Wednesday afternoon, Jeonbuk will be looking for revenge in what will be their first FA Cup outing of the year. In round three, Bucheon beat Incheon University at home to set up Wednesday's glamour tie.

Jeonbuk Hyundai columnist Matt Binns and Bucheon expert Alastair Middleton preview the game in a K League United writers' chat here.

Pocheon FC Vs Gyeongju HNP 15:00

Pocheon made light work of K League Challenge strugglers Seoul E-Land in round three to set up the tie with Gyeongju HNP, with former Daejeon Citizen forward Kim Chanhee on the score sheet for Pocheon. Gyeongju Hydro and Nuclear Power previously put Sunmoon University to the sword in a 4-0 home win in round three.

Gangneung City Vs Sangju Sangmu 19:00

K League Classic outfit Sangju Sangmu head to the east coast to take on National League side Gangneung City. Gangneung eased their way into round four after displacing Ansan Greeners on penalties following a 0-0 draw at home in the previous round. Sangju, who enter the competition in the fourth round for the second season running following their promotion in 2015, are looking for their first FA Cup win in three years.

Gangwon FC Vs Daejeon Korail 19:00

The previous co-inhabitants of Gangneung Civic Stadium, Gangwon FC, face National League side Daejeon Korail in Pyeongchang. Gangwon welcome the railway men to the Alpensia Ski Jump Stadium on the back of an impressive win over Jeju United in the league whilst Korail edged past Yangju in round three in a 1-0 win.

Gwangju FC Vs Yeonsei University 19:00

Gwangju FC welcome Yeonsei University to Guus Hiddink Stadium on Wednesday night, a side that out-edged fellow students Yongin University in round three. Gwangju have only made it into fifth round on two occasions previously, the most recent being last year when the whites losing to Ulsan at the Munsu.

Daegu FC Vs Gyeongnam FC 19:00

A Gyeongsang Province derby sees newly-promoted Daegu take on K League Challenge promotion favourites Gyeongnam. Gyeongnam narrowly beat Hwaseong in a 1-0 away win in round three, Daegu meanwhile enter the competition in the fourth round as a Classic team for the first time in three years. Last season Daegu lost to eventual finalists FC Seoul in round four.

Our columnists for Daegu and Gyeongnam, Muyeol Jung and James Edrupt respectively, previewed the tie with a writers' chat here.

Seongnam FC Vs Cheongju City 19:00

Still looking for their first win of the campaign, Seongnam FC host Cheongju City. The Magpies earned their place in the fourth round thanks to a penalty shootout win at home to Suwon FC last month. Cheongju City also needed penalties in the previous round having seen the score all square at 2-2 with Paju after normal time.

Asan Mugunghwa Vs Ajou University 19:00

Newly-formed Asan Mugunghwa, who have enjoyed an positive start to 2017 having lost just twice in eight games thus far, host Ajou University. In the last round Asan comfortably beat Hanyang University whilst Ajou University  beat K3 side Gyeongju Citizen away from home.

Jeonnam Dragons Vs Jeonju Citizen 19:00

Three times winners Jeonnam Dragons play host to a Jeolla Derby with K3 side Jeonju Citizen visiting Gwangyang. Jeonju soundly saw off the challenge of Kyunghee University to make it to round four, Jeonnam will be looking to build on Saturday's impressive league win over Incheon United.

Gimhae City Vs Jeju United 19:00

Jeju United make the relatively short trip to Gyeongsangnam Province to take on Gimhae City. The island dwellers have started the season strongly and only suffered defeat in domestic competition for the first time this season on Saturday. Last season Jeju bowed out in the fourth round to Gwangju and haven't made it into the last 16 since 2013. Gimhae host Jeju on the back of a slender win over Busan Transport.

Daejeon Citizen Vs Yeungnam University 19:30

A rather favourable draw sees K League Challenge side Daejeon entertain Yeungnam University. Citizen beat Cheonan City 2-1 in the previous round whilst Yeungnam saw off the challenge of Hongik University to set up the trip to Purple Arena.

Daejeon Citizen columnist Paul Neat previews the tie here.

Busan IPark Vs Pohang Steelers 19:30

In what should be an interesting encounter, Challenge high-fliers Busan welcome four-time winners Pohang Steelers to the Gudeok on Wednesday evening. Busan thrashed Gimpo Citzen 4-0 in the previous round, Pohang were knocked out by Bucheon last season and will not want another defeat to lower league opposition to their name.

FC Seoul Vs FC Anyang 19:30

In what is perhaps the tie of the round, FC Anyang make the short trip to the capital to take on their bitter enemy FC Seoul. K League United Editor In Chief Ryan Walters previews the game and discusses the history of this now intense rivalry here.

Ulsan Hyundai Vs Chuncheon FC 19:30

Korea's late Asian Champions League entrants Uslan Hyundai have been given a favourable draw with K3 side Chuncheon making the visit to the Munsu. Chuncheon beat Paichai University in round two before needing penalties against Korea University in round three to make it this far.

Incheon United Vs Suwon Bluewings 19:30

Two sides struggling for form in the league go head to head on Wednesday night with Incheon entertaining Suwon Bluewings. Neither team have won a league game this season, a win for either side would be a much needed boost.
