2017 K-League Kit Design Challenge

With the 2016 season officially over and Daegu FC and Gangwon FC being promoted, it's time to look ahead and imagine what each of the 12 K-League Classic teams might be wearing in 2017. To do so, we're hosting a just-for-fun competition on the magnificent Design Football website and are inviting any and all designers to try their hand at outfitting Korea's top flight. We'll then host a vote on Design Football, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to determine the very best of the newly designed kits. The winner will receive a full write up on KLeagueUnited.com to explain their thought process behind the kit design and talk a little bit about their design background.

Competition Rules

  1. The challenge will begin when 12 people are signed up. Those that wish to do more than one design may do so. Designers must mention they would like to do more than one design when signing up and they'll be randomly assigned a second team.
  2. Each of the 12 designers will be randomly assigned a 2017 K-League Classic team.
  3. If more than 12 designers sign up, they will be randomly assigned a team and will have a play-in round vote to determine who will represent that team in Group Stage voting.
  4. After the play-in round, the competition will be divided in 4 groups of 3 that will be randomly arranged.
  5. The designer with the most votes in the group will advance to the semi-finals and will be ranked 1st-4th based on total votes received.
  6. 1st place will face off vs 4th place, and 2nd vs 3rd.
  7. The semi-final winners will face off for one final vote and winner will be crowned.

Design Rules

  1. Each participant is required to design a full team kit for a team competing in the 2017 K-League Classic.
  2. The team will be randomly picked and the designer may choose to do home or away (or both).
  3. Any manufacturer may be used for the kit.
  4. Every kit must have a chest sponsor, ideally the one currently sponsoring the team. This blog has a most of the kit sponsors. Just click on the "football" link.
  5. The minimum dimensions for each submission is 1000px tall or wide.
  6. Full kits including shirt, shorts, and socks is required. Back of the kit is optional.
  7. Designers will have one week to design their kits.

Voting Rules

  1. Play In voting will take place December 17th.
  2. Group Stage voting will take place December 18th-20th.
  3. Semi-Finals voting will take place December 21st-22nd.
  4. Finals voting will take place December 23rd-26th.
  5. The winning design will be the one with the most combined votes from Design Football, TwitterFacebook, and Instagram.
    1. In the case of a tie, there will be a coin flip to determine the winner.
