Geoje Mini World Cup

K-League United is proud to sponsor the 3rd annual Geoje Mini World Cup hosted by Geoje International FC and Geoje International Center. The tournament will be held at Gohyeon Stadium on Sunday, November 27th 2016.

Previous Mini World Cups have predominately hosted clubs from Geoje Island, but this year teams from around Korea are invited to take part!

Entrance Fee
The ₩250,000 per team fee covers covers field costs, referees, and prize money.
1st place ₩300,000
2nd place ₩200,000
1st 2nd 3rd place trophies

Facilities
The tournament will be held at Gohyeon Stadium. The main field at Gohyeon Stadium is a grass pitch where K-League Challenge's Gyeongnam FC occassionally plays some of its home matches. Additionally, the tournament will utilize the artificial turf practice pitch at Gohyeon Stadium as a supplemental field.

Schedule
The eight teams will be divided into two Groups of 4 teams. Each team will play each other once in the group stage. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. The teams finishing 1st and 2nd in each group will progress to the semi-finals. Teams finishing 3rd and 4th in each group are eliminated. Group ties will be judged on:
  • Goal difference
  • Goals scored
  • Goals conceded
  • Five-man shootout


Games will last 30 minutes with two 15 minute halves and a 5 minute halftime. No extra time will be played. In the event of the final being tied after 30 minutes, a penalty shoot-out will take place.

The Tournament shall be played in accordance with FIFA laws of the game and shall be governed by these Rules and Regulations. Conduct
Sarcasm, harassment, or intimidation towards the referees will not be tolerated. It is the responsibility of all captains to maintain the highest standards of conduct for themselves, their players, and their bench. Abusive and obscene language, violent play, violent conduct, fighting and other behavior that is detrimental to the game will not be tolerated.
