Daejeon's mini 'purple' patch came to an abrupt end on Wednesday with a disappointing defeat to fellow promotion chasers Bucheon.

High-flying Bucheon netted two late goals, including a contentious penalty, in the dying minutes to send the Purples back to Chungcheong Province without even a single point for their endeavours.

Prior to Wednesday's clash Daejeon had begun to show why they proclaim to be still within a realistic chance of returning to the Classic at the first time of asking and although their chances took a body blow it is not over for Citizen, not by any means.

Monday sees Daejeon return to Gyeonggi Province to take on Goyang Zaicro, a side who are on a dismal run of eighteen games without a win, with their last victory dating back to May.

Thus, if Daejeon are to bounce back quickly and well and truly get their playoff push back on track, then Goyang are perhaps the ideal side to do that against.

Previous Meetings

Citizen have never lost against Goyang in league competition, the only reverse came in an FA Cup tie three years ago.

On that harrowing evening at Daejeon World Cup Stadium in May of 2013, a 1-0 win for Goyang was enough to ensure of an FA Cup giant killing.

Despite having a good league record against Goyang, there haven't been too many goals of which to speak of in this current season's encounters.

The most recent meeting between these two sides ended in a 0-0 bore draw at Purple Arena in June, which was preceded by a 1-0 win for the Purples in Goyang on the 1st May this year, Kim Dong-Chan with the goal that afternoon.

Team News

Daejeon are likely to be without their influential playmaker Hwang In-Beom with the midfield prodigy still recovering from a thigh injury picked up during the win over Gangwon.

Elsewhere, manager Choi Moon-Sik has a relatively full squad to choose from.
