Preview: Ansan Mugunghwa vs Gyeongnam FC
Ansan will try to extend its home winning streak to 3 and
continue its unexpectedly strong start to the season. Ansan comes into its
second of three straight league home games after an emotional 2-1 win over
Chungju on last Saturday’s two-year anniversary of the sinking of the Sewol
ferry. (Most of the 304 dead were students from Danwon High School, the school
in view of the stadium.) Gyeongnam, despite playing well so far (2-2-1), has
put itself at a disadvantage with a 10-point penalty and sits at the bottom of
the league with -2 points. The visitors are clearly better than their
bottom-of-the-table standing and will create quite a good match-up with the
hosts. I’m really looking forward to this sunny Sunday afternoon match at "The Wa." A decent crowd will be expected as well.
Ansan have a tendency to score early. Han Ji Ho has been a big
part of that and will look to start his sixth game and add his third goal on
the season. His two goals so far equal his output while at Busan over the previous
two seasons. If the Ansan back line can continue to be pesky as they have been
then I wouldn’t expect to many goals from Gyeongnam. Having Lee Jin Hyung in
the back is another assurance as he makes his 29th appearance as goalkeeper for the
Police.
Now for what to watch for from Gyeongnam. Forwards Song Su
Young and Christian Danalache, Lee Won Jae, and Mid-fielder Kim Jeong Bin have
all featured in every game for Gyeongnam this season. We will see if they stick with a similar lineup for this trip to Ansan. Former Bucheon FC man, Lee
Ki Hyun seems to have settled in net for a team with plenty of youth at the
position. I predict this will be his 4th start of the season. Other than that, I don't know what else to expect from the visiting team.
Head-to-head
The teams have split the all-time series with two draws and a win apiece. We will see if one team can tilt the scales in their favor.
Prediction
I don’t want to reach too far on this one. I’ll say that the Police strike first and hold on for three points.

Short and sweet, there you go.
I think you boys should have enough as at home you seem solid so far. Gyeongnam have been struggling on the road somewhat (0-1, 0-0, 1-1) but have been causing enough trouble that they are close to an away win. This game might be a bit hard though.
