Busan 0-1 Gwangju: The non-review

There will not be a review of this match because I'm too upset and depressed. Suffice it to say, Busan lost their first post-split game to Gwangju as Song Seung-hoon scored late in the first half. A result that confirms Busan to the relegation places - almost certainly the playoff match. An expected fate, but one that still stings.

Like I said, no review of the game (unless there's some sort of demand for one). But I will say this season for Busan feels a lot like the prior relegation victims, particularly last season with Gyeongnam. A Classic team that, on paper, probably should have beaten their Challenge opponents, but their form and morale was so poor that the Challenge team just railroaded them. A fear a reprise is in the offing. All four of the likely Challenge teams (Daegu, Sangju, E-Land, and Suwon FC) could pose a serious challenge (no pun intended). The best hope I think would would Sangju who recently lost a significant group of players, including of course Lee Jeong-hyeob. E-Land seems a tad iffy at the back, but they probably have more than us going forward. Suwon FC would seem to pose a similar challenge. Daegu likely will win the auto promotion spot.

Daejeon next week, and possibly the only 'momentum' building game we have as we end with Jeonnam, Incheon, and Ulsan. Rough, but nothing we can do about it. It's not over 'til it's over, fat lady, other cliches, etc.

승리하라 부산!
